Waste to Resource Ontario (W2RO) is a leading voice in the waste, recycling, and resource recovery sector in Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping our government relations strategy and advancing our advocacy pillars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute W2RO's government relations strategy, building strong relationships with key provincial and federal government stakeholders.
  • Lead government relations initiatives and activities, identifying strategic priorities and developing strategies to address issues and enhance relationships with government representatives.
  • Support and coordinate W2RO's internal volunteer technical committees and action plans.
  • Develop a cohesive strategy for research and data collection and analysis to advance evidence-based sector positions.
  • Prepare briefs, position papers, and messaging through member bulletins, social media, and W2RO's website, ensuring members are kept apprised of developments and issues.

About W2RO:

W2RO represents over 220 organizations across Ontario, including private sector companies, public sector municipalities, and organizations involved in the waste management and recycling sectors. Our members have diverse interests and capital investments in areas such as waste and recycling collection, landfills, transfer stations, material recycling facilities, organics processing and composting, and hazardous waste from both a recycling and disposal perspective.

The Association offers some flexibility in working environment with interesting and challenging opportunities in the policy development and stakeholder relations field, as well as involvement, as a team member, in the wide variety of activities of a small, dynamic office group.

Location:

The office location is in Etobicoke, Ontario, and the position requires some flexibility in working hours and some travel inside Ontario.
