Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager, Production Operations to join our team at Bombardier Transportation GmbH. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in production operations, manufacturing processes, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Team of Production Professionals
    • Supervise a team of production employees, including salaried and unionized staff, to ensure the efficient execution of production processes.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure Production Quality and Compliance
    • Oversee the completion of functional test procedural instructions to ensure all systems are fully tested and compliant with regulatory requirements.
    • Integrate manufacturing requirements and objectives, using an efficient first article inspection process to ensure all design change implementation in production meets manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
    • Work closely with the Change Management organization to provide adequate project schedules, resource allocation, and definition of tooling/processes to support a strong change implementation process in the manufacturing environment.
    • Participate in Achieving Excellence and Continuous Improvement activities to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Develop and Assess Employees
    • Lead, coach, develop, and assess employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
    • Ensure all team members understand their role and performance in achieving the Operations Unit plan.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence Tools
    • Utilize BOE tools to ensure best practice in all deliverables and to implement opportunities to improve, including those provided by the formation of new multi-functional teams.
  • Drive Business Excellence
    • Ensure the team is fully integrated into the Global Aircraft platform, resulting in a one-team approach.
    • Ensure the right resources are available to meet projected workload delivery on quality, cost, and schedule.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary degree and/or at least five (5) + years of Bombardier Aerospace work experience in an Engineering/Methods/Quality environment, technical background is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership and Management Experience
    • Experience supervising a team, with preference given to candidates who have managed a technical team and/or supervised unionized personnel and to individuals with cross-functional experience.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • In-depth technical knowledge of the Bombardier Manufacturing System, Bombardier Engineering System, and the Aircraft and Aircraft Systems; MRB is an asset.
  • Customer Orientation and Communication Skills
    • High-level customer-oriented approach with the desire to provide excellent service.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with the capacity to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
