About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Granville Island Restaurant Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as supervising kitchen staff and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we are always well-stocked and prepared for busy periods.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen and work areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Organize and manage buffets and banquets, ensuring that all events are executed to perfection.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
