About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water Treatment Process Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our process engineering group, you will be responsible for understanding water treatment process engineering design principles and optimizing treatment processes for Municipal and Industrial customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of water treatment process engineering principles and designs for wastewater, drinking water, and industrial applications.
  • Daily duties will extend to:
    • Advanced data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
    • Creating technical reports that analyze process and operations data to validate against design criteria, identifying anomalies, and assessing risks to provide recommendations to manage or eliminate risks proactively.
    • Reviewing engineering documents, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Design, Process Flow Diagrams, Mass Balances, Controls documents, as well as conducting research and development into specific processes or issues that may need addressing.
    • Following QA/QC procedures to maintain data quality for your projects.
    • Collaborating with service project managers to aid in the design and implementation of upgrades and project work to existing water plants.
  • Manage customer expectations, confidently deliver sound technical guidance to ensure any plant can be utilized as a positive reference for Veolia, and identify opportunities for future sales.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • In-depth knowledge of water treatment engineering principles and applications.
  • Experience with data analysis and report writing.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for water treatment systems.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization, building a network across multiple teams to promote continual professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with membrane systems, Reverse Osmosis treatment process engineering, operations, commissioning, field service, or design experience is highly desirable. A 4-year degree in Chemical/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry is preferred; however, equivalent water experience will also be considered. Proven ability to multitask on several concurrent projects is essential.

Earnings and Benefits

This position offers an estimated annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000 based on experience, plus benefits and bonuses. Travel up to 10% of the time may be required for plant process audits, troubleshooting, and cleaning assistance at customer sites.
