About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Optimization Expert to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, optimizing production workflows, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, R&D, and operations, to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
  • Analyze and optimize production processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.
  • Maintain close relationships with suppliers, ensuring raw materials meet required specifications for quality and performance.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and preventative measures to address production issues.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers to implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve production issues, improve product quality, and align on project timelines and goals.
  • Report on trending issues and field failure rates.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years working directly with contract manufacturers.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including DFM, PFMEA, test plans, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, preferably in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of surface mount electronics principles and IPC standards.
  • Good understanding of plastic injection molding and harness manufacturing practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis tools.
