As a Background Check Specialist at Mintz Global Screening, you will be responsible for the daily processing of our background check services. Our services include verifying references, driving records, diplomas, professional accreditations, and other services offered by the company.

Responsibilities:

As a Background Check Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Executing verification work using available tools and staying updated on new services, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Acquiring necessary consent documents for requested verifications
  • Understanding the nature and limits of the mandate given by clients
  • Conducting regular monitoring according to customer needs and answering their questions in a timely manner
  • Providing results to clients and offering additional avenues of research if necessary
  • Making outbound calls and answering incoming calls to complete verifications
  • Ensuring compliance with company standards of privacy and security, as well as meeting client service deadlines
  • Collaborating with team members to provide excellent customer service
  • Referencing team leaders for advice, answers to questions, and guidance on problematic situations
  • Performing other duties assigned by supervisors

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and Education

  • Degree from a recognized Canadian college or high school
  • Typing ability of at least 30 words per minute

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum one year of experience in customer service
  • Excellent computer skills, including web, database, and other tools for audits
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly communicate research results
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
