Environmental and Compliance Officer

About the Role:
The HSE Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of HSE requirements at construction sites, following health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plans in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements, and Government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective HSE prevention programs in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements, and Provincial and Federal regulations.
- Provide HSE support for all projects during all phases: bidding, planning, engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and servicing of hydro sites.
- Carry out and record regular safety checks and safety inspections.
- Provide assistance in Design and Activity Risk Analysis.
- Perform internal audits in construction sites and facilities and coordinate external audits.
- Develop, conduct, and coordinate required HSE trainings, including E-Learning tool.
- Develop a preventive maintenance program and ensure hazardous material management.
- Primary support in case of HSE issues. Coordinate investigation and perform Root Cause Analysis.
- Coordinate with the Workers Compensation Board and Safety Groups in each province.
- Coordinate and support HSE site officers.
- Coordinate First Aid Rescue, First Aid Responders, and Fire Protection Programs.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships regarding HSE topics.
- Coordinate safety committees for facilities. Perform HSE reviews with management.
- Implement ISO and maintain ISO and COR certification for applicable provinces.
