Job Title: Technical Product Manager

Scotiabank is seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our Cloud and Platform Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for technology product planning and adoption, managing the technology product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and user requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering to deliver technology products that enable success for digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
  2. Engage with engineering and architecture teams across Scotia Digital and Scotiabank to gather and prioritize product features.
  3. Research and have expert knowledge on the technology product domain, how this technology is operated like a product in other large enterprises, and product offerings that would help to inform buy, build, partner decisioning.
  4. Define the technology product strategy and roadmap.
  5. Deliver a product backlog with well-defined and prioritized product features with corresponding justification (the what and the why).
  6. Lead the development of business cases to allocate required funding and time, with support from Scotia Digital Engineering and Scotia Digital Operations.
  7. Develop the core positioning and messaging for the technology product.
  8. Organize and lead product demos to users and brief & train the Engagement Managers about the products they manage.
  9. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  10. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  11. Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  2. 8+ years of experience with the technology domain for managed technology products.
  3. Experience with the creation and ongoing management of technology products within an enterprise.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, Spanish is an asset.
  5. Excellent teamwork skills.
  6. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
