We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef Team Leader to join our culinary team at Langdon Hall Relais & Chateaux.

About the Role

As an Executive Chef Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will work closely with the executive chef to plan menus, ensure food meets quality standards, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to maintain a fast-paced and efficient environment.
  • Create new recipes that meet the high standards of Langdon Hall Relais & Chateaux.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to ensure consistency across all dishes.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, including managing tight deadlines and working under pressure.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and prevent waste.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and menu planning to create innovative and delicious dishes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high pressure.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.
