POSITION SUMMARY

The Provincial Director, Public Partnership Development plays a pivotal role in promoting BC Builds' role in creating new rental housing for middle-income households. This is achieved through partnerships with not-for-profits, sponsor groups, housing agencies, and government officials across the province. The Director is responsible for leading a team of professionals and identifying lands owned by local governments, First Nations, faith groups, and other public and community organizations to create an ongoing pipeline of development opportunities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in urban land economics, land use planning, real estate development and financing, or a related field. Additionally, they will have extensive project management experience in developing multi-unit residential housing and mixed-use developments. Alternatively, the candidate may have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership to a team of professionals and identify lands for development opportunities.
  2. Project Management: Manage the review and evaluation of proposed partner project sites, designs, construction specifications, cost estimates, and development schedules.
  3. Partnership Development: Foster partnerships with local governments, First Nations, faith groups, and other public and community organizations to create development opportunities.
  4. Project Execution: Ensure successful project execution and coordinate the submission of project recommendations to various committees and approvers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in urban land economics, land use planning, real estate development and financing, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Extensive project management experience in developing multi-unit residential housing and mixed-use developments.
  3. Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to examine, assess, and synthesize complex data and information, and ability to develop and analyze capital and operating budget pro-forma for multi-unit residential and mixed-use real estate.
