As a Communications Leader, People, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating and delivering strategic communication campaigns, projects and change initiatives on behalf of the VCH People team. You will provide leadership and consultation in all aspects of communications to People leadership to advance organizational strategic priorities while strengthening the department's and organization's reputation with both internal and external partners.

The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $60,000 - $80,000 per year. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Journalism supplemented with industry-recognized accreditation, and a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent related experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic communications consultation, planning and evaluation for senior leaders to proactively achieve strategic priorities, manage reputation risks, support change and transition initiatives, and positively impact the employee experience.
  • Planning, coordinating and executing effective communications, change management and engagement strategies and techniques designed to meet needs of target audiences.
  • Liaising with partners and experts at all levels of the organization to develop a broad understanding of important issues, challenges and strategic directions being undertaken, provide advice and develop related communications.
  • Applying solid knowledge of best practice business methods to help advance corporate culture, executive communications, executive engagement with frontline staff, corporate business practices and online and in-person communications.

You will be an expert in journalistic and business writing, with the ability to develop compelling written and multimedia presentations to target and engage a variety of external and internal stakeholders. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to gather and present information and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
