Job Summary:

The Finish Carpenter will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Instructing apprentices and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Operating CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Assembling wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders, and barrels.
  • Repairing furniture frames and refinishing wood surfaces.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:

The Finish Carpenter will work in a millwork/pre-fab shop environment, with regular exposure to noise and dust. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a high level of accuracy.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.Work Hours:

The work hours are 30 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
