About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Galaxy Homes. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. You will be required to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in noisy environments.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in noisy environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
