People and Performance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People and Performance Lead to join our team at CO_67 TC1 Dagmar Infrastructure Inc. in Toronto. As a key member of our organization, you will play a lead role in developing and implementing our overall people, high performance, and culture development strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and tactical internal consulting and problem-solving advice to the project team in human resources programs and services.
- Contribute to the Alliance project strategy by helping the leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities and behaviors.
- Work closely with members of the management team in reviewing and actioning our workforce plan to ensure the project meets the key performance indicators.
- Assist the management team with building a high-performance team through talent assessments, workforce and succession planning, risk assessment and development plans.
- Effectively manage situations of conflict by working closely with members of the management team and employees to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and in a timely manner.
- Conduct workplace investigations and manage grievances when appropriate.
- Implement and champion human resource policies and practices which align and meet the needs of our project team.
- Support the development of processes and communications for the ongoing employee performance cycle among all members of the Alliance team.
- Champion the learning opportunities provided by the Alliance to enhance employee performance.
- Provide guidance, expertise, and recommendations to enhance the quality and profile of the rewards and recognition program.
- Reinforce the development of a coaching culture as a way of inspiring project team members.
- Communicate, influence, and explain various initiatives across a wide range of levels and audiences within the Alliance.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources role, or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
- Working towards a HR designation or completed HR designation is an asset.
- Human Resources experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to solve problems moderately complex in nature and make routine recommendations.
- Ability to work proactively and positively as part of a team acting with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced building project environment with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to liaise and form positive relationships with all levels of management and team members.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
