The organization within Business Unit Networks at Ericsson seeks to work closely with our customers, passionate about the delivery of virtualized RAN solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-stack Virtualization of the 5G NR CU and DU
  • Systemization of CRAN & DRAN configurations
  • COTS HW including L1 accelerators
  • Cloud-Native infrastructure based on ADP framework for SW based on micro-services and containers
  • Open interfaces (e.g F1, X2/Xn, A1, 01, LLS…)
  • Architecture for automation, AI and Machine Learning
  • Band support: Sub-6 & Mid-Band AAS to start with, High-Band in the future
  • Radio support: Potentially all Ericsson NR capable radios with the use of eCPRI or CPRI converter
What You Will Do
  • Be actively engaged in the architecture definition and proactively drive the implementation of Cloud Native based vDU, in particular:
  • Drive and participate in system studies for products and features and product evolution
  • Be able to deliver scalability, resilience, and performance by taking full advantage of the evolving architectural and services inherent to a Cloud-Native Platform with leading edge HW accelerators
  • Modularize the implementation such that it can prioritize multiple type of interfaces (proprietary, ORAN...) and multiple types of Radios (Macro, Mid-Band AAS, High Band, Indoor...).
  • Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools and processes
  • Participate in proof-of-Concept development
  • Interfacing with customers to understand their pain points and future needs
  • Participate in the development of roadmaps and strategies for hardware and software platforms
  • Development of Intellectual Property
  • Cultivate a systematization and implementation that enable rapid feature parity in a Stand-Alone and Hybrid network environment
  • Work on 3GPP NR and ORAN standards protocols and advanced 5G feature
Requirements
  • 5-7 years' work in Wireless System architecture/ standardization or Cloud Native product architecture/ development
  • At least 3 years of work experience in functions related to NR DU or Radio systems
  • BSc or MSc level in Electrical/ Computer Systems engineering or related specialization
  • Experienced with the developing wireless system models and simulation tools for system performance evaluation of 5G RAN systems. Good understanding of wireless channel models and L1/L2/L3 Algorithms will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native core design principles is desirable
  • Collaborative and extraordinary teammate
Additional Requirements

  • Result oriented with focus on customer satisfaction and project delivery
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Background in communications theory and digital signal processing
  • Experience in Radio access technologies (NR, LTE, WCDMA, GSM), Baseband, and/or HW/SW design or research.
  • Solid understanding of NR 3GPP specifications, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management, and Mobility.
  • Experience in SW development. Languages include: Java, Matlab, C and C++
  • Analytical and mathematical approach, high capacity, and result-oriented ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and/or being perceived as a technical leader.
  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, providing effective communication and building positive relationships internally as well as externally.
