About the Role:

The Corporate Investigations Unit (CIU) at Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned professional to fill a 9-month temporary position of Investigator. This role will be based in Edmonton, Calgary, or Central zone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide investigative expertise, advice, and direction for workplace investigations in collaboration with the Protective Services Team.
  • Address patient and public concerns, ensuring investigations adhere to best practices and align with AHS' mission, vision, values, and core objectives.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, effective, and engaged workplace while building and nurturing relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Identify issues, problems solve, and provide effective advice to the team and stakeholders, bringing an innovative approach to developing and supporting the team.
  • Deliver high-quality support in a client-centered and patient-focused integrated service delivery model, fostering a culture of service and performance excellence in line with the department's operational standards.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to leave the local site to work out of town on short notice.

About the Team:

The CIU is part of the AHS Clinical Support Services Team, reporting to the Chief Protective Services Officer. The role of the CIU is to support, facilitate, advise, and assist with professional investigations initiated into allegations of unprofessional or prohibited conduct in the organization.
