Job Title: Practical Nurse - Geriatric Care



About the Role:



At Pro Vita Care Management, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in providing high-quality care to our geriatric patients. As an LPN, you will be responsible for administering medications, conducting specimen collection, and ensuring infection control, as well as monitoring nutritional intake and vital signs.



Responsibilities:




  • Administer medications according to established protocols
  • Apply aseptic techniques, including sterile dressing and wound care
  • Conduct specimen collection, including blood draws and urine tests
  • Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times
  • Monitor patients' nutritional intake and vital signs
  • Record medication side effects and observations in patient files
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including comfort measures and safety education
  • Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • Provide nursing services within defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with the healthcare team as needed


Requirements:




  • Eligible for licensure as a Practical Nurse in the province/territory of work
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
  • CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
