Role Overview

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CARSTAR Canada Partnership, LP facility, ensuring the success of the business in all areas. This role requires strong management skills, knowledge of the Auto Body trade, and the ability to foster a positive team spirit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and report the profitability of the facility on a monthly basis.
  • Review the profit and loss statement with staff to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Determine and correct financial areas of concern, regularly evaluating business performance.
  • Establish and meet financial goals, including profit margins and overhead budgets.
  • Review closed repair orders for quality and management issues.
  • Participate in business group meetings to share ideas and improve group performance.
  • Maintain local licenses and permits, provide backup for administrative associates, and monitor store quality.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, development, corrective action, and termination of all associates.
  • Hold daily, weekly, and monthly store meetings to train and inform associates.
  • Resolve complaints and disputes, ensure safety training, and maintain Canadian safety standards.
  • Produce CSI that meets or exceeds established standards and follow up on substandard CSI cards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Management or the industry.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge:
    • Management Software (Mitchell and/or Summit) – ADVANCED
    • Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook) – INTERMEDIATE
    • Estimating Software (Audatex and/or Mitchell) – INTERMEDIATE
    • Business Math Skills
    • ICAR
    • WHMIS
    • First Aid
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to constant change, and handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) and ability to travel when necessary.
Physical Demands
  • General Physical Skills (Carrying, Lifting – 60 lbs, squatting, kneeling, pushing, standing, sitting, walking, reaching)
  • Repetitive motion
  • Driving, must have a valid license
