Job Title: English as a Second Language Instructor

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is a dynamic Catholic school board committed to delivering quality educational programs and services from a Catholic faith perspective.

We are seeking a qualified English as a Second Language Instructor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in English as a Second Language to adult learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver English language instruction to adult learners
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Use technology to enhance the learning experience
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
Requirements:
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Valid TESL Ontario Certification (OCELT)
  • PBLA trained or in-training an asset
  • Experience in providing instruction in ESL to adults
  • Understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks, ESL/LINC Curriculum Guidelines, National Language Placement and Progression Guidelines, and PBLA process
