Project Manager

At Magil Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our construction projects to success. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this position is responsible for directing the overall operations and ensuring the project's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and ensure the implementation of construction projects entrusted to them.
  • Consult with clients and stakeholders to determine specific project controls and ensure quality execution.
  • Draft contracts for consultants, specialists, and contractors, and manage endorsements, amendments, and change orders.
  • Ensure the follow-up of services rendered by consultants, including drawings, specifications, supervision, and acceptance of works.
  • Participate in site meetings with professionals and subcontractors.
  • Track project costs and manage change orders between professionals and subcontractors for cost estimation and work execution.
  • Manage and follow up with contractors on all activities related to the progress of work on the construction site.
  • Participate in the development and updating of the daily schedule.
  • Participate in contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and follow up on technical questions related to plans and specifications.
  • Manage customer and subcontractor payment requests and review shop drawings and samples.
  • Monitor conflict detections when the project is carried out in BIM.
  • Monitor and manage deficiencies.
  • Participate in bid analysis with the estimation team if necessary.
  • Ensure that the project coordinator adequately manages amendments and change orders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, building engineering, or a technology diploma in construction, architecture, or civil.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to follow and control budgets and progressive invoicing.
  • Mastery of MS Office and MS Project software.
  • Knowledge of Procore (an asset).
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Construction Code.
  • Knowledge of the Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • LEED accreditation (an asset).
  • Bilingual ability in French/English (an asset).
