Job Overview

The BIM/VDC Lead/Associate Project Manager is responsible for utilizing BIM software to manage digital models throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong analytical skills and excellent organizational abilities to ensure design consistency and identify potential issues through clash detection.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate on-site construction activities daily, including project coordination, scheduling, estimating, material requisitioning, and cost control.
  • Oversee project goals within targeted budgets by reviewing financial status and identifying problem areas.
  • Supervise and coordinate manpower and subcontractors to effectively handle delivery, labor, and schedule management.
  • Recognize key issues and expedite solutions both internally and externally.
  • Promote the organization's interests in a professional, positive manner when interacting with clients and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate status updates to ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to facilitate effective communication.
  • Leverage technology to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Budget, design proposals, and deliver schedules of construction projects across Atlantic Canada, involving occasional travel.
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget, with a focus on exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Develop and implement BIM standards for related projects, files, and models.
  • Collaborate with other departments, clients, subcontractors, and personnel to address complex issues.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of industry requirements and promote a better-trained workforce.
  • Safeguard project delivery while prioritizing exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Support other departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in BIM/VDC with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Civil or Mechanical engineering background required (Degree or diploma from an accredited institution).
  • Previous commercial/industrial project experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, project cost control software, and project management software is essential.
