Job Summary

This role falls within our general contracting/construction management division of FCC Construction. As the BIM/VDC Lead/Associate Project Manager, you will utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to manage and coordinate digital models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design consistency, identifying potential issues through clash detection, and facilitating smooth construction by leveraging virtual design and construction (VDC) practices. Your analytical mind and organizational skills will be essential in achieving project goals on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee daily on-site construction activities, including project coordination, scheduling, estimating, material requisitioning, and cost control.
  • Achieve project objectives within targeted parameters by reviewing financial status and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Supervise and coordinate manpower and subcontractors to effectively handle delivery, labor, and schedules.
  • Recognize critical issues and respond promptly to expedite solutions both internally and externally.
  • Represent the organization professionally and positively when interacting with clients and consultants.
  • Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to ensure everyone is informed and aligned.
  • Leverage technology to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Budget, design proposals, and deliver schedules of construction projects across Atlantic Canada, which may involve occasional travel.
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget, with a focus on exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Develop and implement BIM standards for related projects, files, and models.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments, clients, subcontractors, and personnel, focusing on solutions that consider the impact on all parties involved.
  • Demonstrate project/product knowledge and understanding of industry requirements.
  • Share knowledge with others in the department to promote a better-trained workforce.
  • Safely deliver projects on time and within budget, with a focus on exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Support other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements

  • Exposure to BIM/VDC with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Civil or Mechanical engineering background required (Degree or diploma from an accredited institution).
  • Prior commercial/industrial project experience.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Project, project cost control software, and project management software.
