About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Packaging Specialist to join our team at AMD Medicom inc. This is an exciting opportunity for a packaging expert to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage package development requests from conception through launch, ensuring timely execution and accuracy in customer-facing documentation.
  • Qualify packaging through line trials and various testing requirements, leading pre and post line trial meetings.
  • Create and maintain project timelines to support the timely execution of each project.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Sales, and customers to develop new products through kick-off, development, and status meetings.
  • Interface with Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Use SPC and interpret run data to optimize packaging performance.
  • Create SolidWorks and/or ArtiosCAD drawings for customer specification and sign-off.
  • Conduct unit cavity data reviews and make recommendations prior to moving into production.
  • Provide technical guidance for packaging, materials, and technologies.
  • Participate in identifying new and improved processes to reduce turnaround time of the New Product Development Process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or DEP degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 years of proven package development project work/quality experience, preferably in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related fields.
  • Proficient in using MS Office, SolidWorks Software, ArtiosCAD, and AutoCAD.
  • Capable of building presentations on Excel and/or PowerPoint.
  • Experience in supporting continuous improvement projects on packaging design and optimization, waste minimization.
  • Technical competency in analyzing geometric objects in 2- and 3-dimensions, including understanding of fill capacity, tolerances, fit, and finish of packaging components and subcomponents.
  • Good communication skills to deal effectively with various levels of our organization and suppliers.
  • Good organizational skills to manage documentation, materials, and information.
  • Strong knowledge of retail, fast-moving consumer goods, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, initiate, and lead tasks within defined projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to resolve and/or escalate issues properly.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset and working approach.
  • Experience with Class II and III medical device packaging and industry regulations in North America is a plus.
