About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Team Lead to join our team at Gateway Newstands. As a Sales Team Lead, you will be responsible for supervising a team of sales staff, assigning duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of our sales floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of 5-10 sales staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Sales Management: Assign sales staff to duties, authorize returns, and establish work schedules to ensure optimal sales performance.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that stock is accurately tracked and replenished as needed.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Training and Development: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees, as well as awareness training for employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth and Indigenous workers.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a sales or supervisory role.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, organized, dependable, and excellent oral communication skills.
Work Environment

As a Sales Team Lead at Gateway Newstands, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment with a team of sales staff. You will be required to work 35 to 40 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.

The primary language of work is English.
