Job Title: Personal Support Worker

Job Summary:

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social, and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist clients with daily activities, such as eating, toileting, and mobility
  • Support clients' physical, social, and emotional needs
  • Comply with relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
  • Experience in long-term care setting an asset
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and time manage
  • Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and bending
  • Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
  • Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts
