We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Assistant to join our team at DNA Smith Carpentry. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced carpenters with various tasks, including load, unload and transport construction materials, mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, and assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Requirements:
