Job Title: Truck Driver

Uxbridge Nurseries Limited is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements:
  • AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • DZ class license
  • Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate
  • Defensive Driving Course
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with GPS and other navigation equipment
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and laws
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The position requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
