We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Residential Support Worker to join our team at Health Association Nova Scotia. As a Community Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with complex needs in a community residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and care to individuals with cognitive deficits, physical disabilities, and mental health needs.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs, preferably in a community residential setting.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or nursing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Current and clear criminal records check with vulnerable sector search.
