Strategic Education Developer for Teaching Excellence

We are seeking a Strategic Education Developer for Teaching Excellence to join our team at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). As an educational developer, you will play a key role in promoting a scholarly and evidence-based approach to teaching, working closely with faculty and staff to enhance learning outcomes.
Your Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of educational programs at UTSC, supporting faculty and instructors in their professional growth and enhancing the student experience. As an educational developer, you will work collaboratively with departmental staff and chairs to identify eligible faculty for teaching awards, deliver sessions and webinars on teaching grants and awards, and provide expertise to support academic departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement instructional programs, collaborating with academic departments to integrate active learning techniques, inclusive teaching practices, and assessment strategies into curriculum design.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of evaluation frameworks for assigned projects, conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop resources on educational-related matters, conduct data analysis to inform management decision-making, and contribute to the development and enhancement of educational programs.
- Support UTSC initiatives to develop and fund pedagogical research, grant programs, and facilitate information sessions, workshops, conferences, and communities of practice.
Requirements
- A Master's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience in higher education, including experience with university-level instruction, program planning, facilitation, curriculum development, faculty development, and professional development for faculty and staff.
- Minimum five years of recent and related work experience in higher education, including experience with program evaluation and assessment methodologies, supporting and mentoring faculty in teaching dossier preparation, and using academic and collaborative technology tools and applications.
- Strong understanding of educational theory, pedagogy, and adult learning principles, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation Package
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,056 - $115,169 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, we offer opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
