The Harris Leadership Strategies is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead our organization in achieving its mission and goals. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for executing the organization's strategic plan, overseeing day-to-day operations, and providing insight into the changing healthcare landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan, setting goals and objectives to achieve optimal performance.
- Operational Management: Oversee core functions, including financial management, program delivery, agency administration, fund development, human resources, and community relations.
- Staff and Volunteer Leadership: Provide strategic guidance to staff and volunteers responsible for service delivery, programming, fundraising, and effective operations.
- Program Development: Lead the planning, evaluation, and execution of programs, adapting to the needs of participants as they evolve.
- Partnerships and Fund Development: Identify new areas for collaboration, build integrated partnerships, and oversee the fund development function, including stewardship of current donors.
- Cultural Transformation: Implement and advance the organization to deliver on the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, promoting a culture of partnership, collaboration, and mentorship.
- Community Engagement: Strengthen the organization's community profile, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and establish strategic community partnerships with allied organizations and government.
- National and Provincial Partnerships: Work in partnership with the Canadian Lung Association and federation at a national level for various synergistic initiatives.
Selection Criteria:
- Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in social services, business, or other relevant discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Leadership Experience: Senior progressive leadership experience and ability to mobilize and develop teams.
- Non-Profit Experience: Experience working in a non-profit setting, including working with a Board of Directors.
- Financial Management: Successful track record of risk management, budget management, and oversight of financial operations.
- Human Resources: Experience with human resources planning and ability to foster higher performance and engagement with a small team.
- Fund Development: Demonstrated understanding of fund development, including donor engagement and government funding.
- Healthcare System: Experience with the national and/or provincial healthcare system and awareness of personal and societal impacts of lung disease.
- Public Spokesperson: Ability to act as the public-facing spokesperson for community events, meetings, speaking engagements, and media.
- Leadership Skills: Inspirational and visible leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence individuals internally and externally.
