About the Role

Spectrum Society for Community Living is seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will work closely with our clients to provide support and assistance with daily living tasks, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social events, promoting social interaction and community engagement
  • Assist clients with transportation, using public transportation or other modes of transportation as needed
  • Support clients with managing their time and schedules, ensuring they meet their goals and objectives
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, promoting their mental health and well-being

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use software applications
