Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in a full-time, permanent role. This position will be based out of our Head Office in Liberty Village and offers a hybrid working model, with 2 days a week in-office and 3 days a week working from home.

This role is responsible for all of our Retail (freestanding stores and counters globally). Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining store/retail counter P&L reports by store, region, store type, and comp/new doors.
  • Developing P&L scenario analysis for new freestanding store opportunities to evaluate gross profit and NOP.
  • Collaborating with the OPEX team to ensure operating expenses are reported accurately and reviewing financial results/P&L with the Director and Regional Heads, retail, on a quarterly basis.
  • Analyzing business performance by identifying trends, evaluating metrics/KPIs, and providing insights to the FSS Retail team.

Budget and Forecasting:

  • Preparing budget Store/Counter P&L's by store, region, store type, and comp/new doors.
  • Planning FTE counts and personnel costs by role type, region, phased by month/quarter.
  • Validating forecasts and resolving any issues by working closely with the FSS/Retail Counters team.
  • Variance analysis of forecasts to actuals/budget.

Month End:

  • Monthly store/counter P&L's.
  • OPEX reconciliation to ensure spend is accurately coded (cost centre, GL).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst within FP&A.
  • Experience in a DTC environment is a must; CPG/Retail preferred.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
  • Relevant education in Finance & Accounting (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or another relevant field OR equivalent work experience is an asset.
  • Analytical thinking ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
