We are seeking a skilled Primary Maternity Care Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive primary obstetrical and postpartum health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pregnant women and new mothers, including prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and continuum of patient care.
- Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Work towards same-day or next-day access for the practice population, ensuring timely and efficient care.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC).
- Primary care obstetrics experience or training required.
- Newborn care experience considered an asset.
