Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Biryani House Arnprior Corporation. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, determining the size of food portions and costs, and planning menus and estimating food requirements for their realization.

Work Setting:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods. They will also be responsible for inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervising kitchen staff and helpers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
