Job Title: Chef, Ethnic Cuisine Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Biryani House Arnprior Corporation. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of international dishes, including ethnic cuisine.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in managing kitchen operations and supervising staff. You will be responsible for determining food portion sizes and costs, planning menus, and requisitioning food and kitchen supplies. You will also be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, and training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
