Ophthalmic Technician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Kensington Health Centre. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists in clinics, performing diagnostic tests, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist ophthalmologists in clinics by accurately testing patients' vision, applying eye drops, and performing diagnostic tests.
- Perform visual field testing, OCT, photography, ultrasound, topography, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Provide instructions to patients on eye care and ensure accurate medical records management.
- Establish and maintain good relations with patients, families, and the Kensington Health community.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure their involvement and participation in decision-making.
- Use scientific knowledge to identify issues and manage conflicts.
- Continuously investigate and suggest new methods of delivering services to patients.
- Minimum three years of experience in an ophthalmology setting.
- Experience with ophthalmology diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Electronic patient scheduling software and/or electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
- Medical background and previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Sc. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
