Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the University Health Network. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual work-ups, including history, medications, vision, corneal pachymetry, intraocular pressure, autorefraction, OCT, and biometry.
  • Input data into EPIC and assist with in-office procedures.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing for clinics and assisting the administrative team.

Requirements:

  • Completion of high school and an additional 1-year program in a general sciences program.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • At least 1 year of practical and related experience.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage patient concerns.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
