Casual Custodian Job Description

Livingstone Range School Division is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Casual Custodian to join our team. As a Casual Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions
  • Wash and dust all desks, counters, doors, windows, and other surfaces
  • Dust and vacuum all areas of the school
  • Mop, wax, and maintain all floors
  • Secure all Division buildings
  • Collect and remove garbage and recyclables
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as tightening furniture and changing light bulbs
  • Remove snow and ice from walkways
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated initiative and good judgment
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff and work in a team environment
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Organizational skills and ability to adjust daily routine as needed
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks daily
  • Working knowledge of chemicals and procedures used by caretaking staff
Physical Demands:
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently
  • Able to work in a highly active physical environment
  • Able to work with a variety of chemicals
