Primary Care Nurse Position

About the Role
As a Primary Care Nurse with the First Nations Health Authority, you will play a vital part in providing culturally safe and high-quality care to our clients. You will work within an innovative virtual team-based care environment, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver client-centered services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct virtual primary care services to clients at all life stages.
- Contribute to ensuring a racism-free and culturally safe environment for all clients, their families, and staff.
- Work with the virtual team to develop and implement strategies for improving health outcomes for First Nations communities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized university.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent related experience in primary care, public health, community and/or chronic disease care.
- Experience working with and delivering health services to First Nations clients.
- Training in anti-Indigenous racism response and cultural safety and humility.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Knowledge of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
- Experience integrating holistic Indigenous approaches with Western approaches.
- A strong understanding of rural and remote communities and their inherent challenges and barriers.
