Job Title: Executive Chef
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at Indian Spice. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, as well as managing kitchen staff and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen efficiency
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
- Create new recipes and menus
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Recruit and hire staff
- Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
