About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supermarket Butcher to join our team at marché du faubourg Place Jacques-Cartier INC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Cut and trim carcasses, sides, and quarters to meet customer demands.
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers, using precision and attention to detail.
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, adhering to company guidelines.
  • Wrap and package prepared meats, ensuring they are presented attractively.
  • Remove bones from meat, using efficient techniques.
  • Weigh meats for sale, accurately and promptly.
  • Cut poultry into parts, meeting customer requirements.
  • Price meat products, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Sell meats to customers, providing excellent customer service.
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets, meeting customer demands.
  • Grind meats, using precision and attention to detail.
  • Make special sausages, adhering to company guidelines.
  • Slice cooked meats, presenting them attractively.
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products, enhancing the shopping experience.
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood, meeting customer requirements.
Requirements
  • Meat Cutter Trade Certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Certification with provincial or territorial authorities, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Physical stamina, with the ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high-quality standards.
