State Government Business Development Director

We are seeking a highly skilled State Government Business Development Director to join our team at Stonewood Group Inc.
Job OverviewThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced business development professional to leverage their skills and expertise to drive growth and success in the state government sector. Reporting to the Vice President, North American Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand our presence in this critical market.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to identify and pursue new opportunities in the state government sector.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within state governments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop targeted sales strategies and tactics.
- Pursue and close new business opportunities, achieving established sales targets and objectives.
- Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with existing customers and partners.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage virtual teams to support business development efforts.
- Mentor and coach team members to achieve sales targets and objectives.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A University Degree in Business, Commerce, Sciences, or related field.
- 10+ years of business development/sales experience, ideally in systems and solutions.
- Proven track record in identifying, developing, and delivering new business opportunities in the state government sector.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
