Job Title: Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Young Roofing & Construction Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects. This will involve reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, preparing estimates for general expenses and overheads, and creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Client-focused and organized
