Your Opportunity:

As a Mental Health Clinician with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and treatment services to clients/patients experiencing mental health and/or addictions related concerns. Using trauma-informed care, you will work with individuals, families, and group settings, incorporating family-centred care as appropriate. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be required to support continuity and coordination of care. Clinical consultation, education, and capacity building with team members and other service providers will also be part of your responsibilities.

Description:

This position is part of the multidisciplinary health care team, working collaboratively to deliver care for the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities. You will be responsible for intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and working collaboratively with other team members will be essential. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development, and provide supervision to practicum students.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
