Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate patient nutritional status and develop personalized care plans, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure effective implementation and evaluation.
  2. Contribute to interdisciplinary patient care through participation in ward rounds and team conferences, sharing knowledge and expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Provide education and counseling to patients and families on nutrition-related topics, including diet modifications and lifestyle changes.
  4. Identify and refer patients to community-based nutritional resources as needed, ensuring comprehensive care and support.
  5. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and evaluation of written procedures, standards, and patient materials.
  6. Document patient care and maintain accurate records, including workload statistics and patient outcomes.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver in-service education, preparing educational materials and presenting to staff.
  8. Provide clinical education and supervision to students and dietetic interns, fostering their growth and development.
  9. Stay current with industry developments by reviewing professional literature, consulting with peers, and participating in relevant educational programs.
  10. Support research activities by generating questions, assisting with proposal writing, and contributing to data collection and interpretation.
  11. Monitor and manage supplies and equipment, reporting malfunctions and arranging for maintenance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized university.
  • A dietetic internship from an accredited program.
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of legislation and government policies related to healthcare.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
