About the Role

The Health Support Aide has a vital role within the Surgical team, providing daily care routines and supporting patients/clients with activities of daily living. Responsibilities may include: providing basic care (comforts), specimen collection, and other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed health care professionals.

Your Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Previous related experience or education is an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures is an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention is preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training (e.g. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate) is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients/clients, hospital staff, public, and referral sources
  • Competencies in other languages is an asset, French is preferred
Work Arrangements

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $19.26 - $20.02.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
