About the Role

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Halifax, NS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next stage of development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding our strategic vision, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and driving our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve our organizational goals
    • Lead and manage a team of dedicated staff and volunteers
    • Collaborate with our Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and decision-making
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community leaders
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage our stakeholders and promote our mission
  • Program Development and Management
    • Develop and implement programs and services that align with our strategic vision and meet the needs of our community
    • Manage and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed

Requirements
  • Education
    • Post-secondary degree program, or equivalent professional experience
    • Masters, (preferably in Business Admin) or related is an advantage
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the non-profit sector
    • Proven track record of success in strategic planning, program development, and financial management
  • Skills
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
