Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Recreation Coordinator to join our team at Curve Lake First Nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the planning, delivery, and promotion of recreation programs and community events that meet the needs and interests of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate recreation programs and special events that promote physical activity, socialization, and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement a local recreation needs assessment and work plan to ensure that programs meet the needs and interests of the community.
  • Provide administrative support to Recreation Portfolio Councilors, Program Coordinators, and Managers.
  • Research and identify recreation opportunities and resources to support program development and delivery.
  • Prepare updates and make recommendations on recreation issues for the Band Council Executive and Chief as required.
  • Act as a liaison between parents, instructors, and community members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support program development and delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities and provide ongoing direction and support to ensure program success.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a Recreation related field with experience developing and coordinating recreational programming.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Strong knowledge of community recreation programming principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,906 to $55,431 per year, based on a 39.5 hour work week. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan.
