Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team at Lake Country Lodge Community & Retirement Living. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a critical role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing engaging and meaningful activities that promote social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreational programs and activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of activity areas, including equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor resident participation and feedback, and report to the Team Leader as necessary.
  • Promote social interaction among residents through leadership of assigned activities and special events.
  • Assist new residents with orientation to the community and introduce them to other residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivation concepts and leisure principles.
  • Computer proficiency and valid driver's license (Class F or provincial equivalent).
  • Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and a Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
