Clinical Psychiatric Specialist

Job Summary: Island Health is seeking a full-time or part-time Clinical Psychiatric Specialist to work in an outpatient setting, providing care to an adult population with a wide range of psychiatric and substance use diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mental health services to patients with complex diagnoses, including persistently mentally ill, personality disordered, and co-morbid populations.
- Work collaboratively with the community and recovery-focused program team to provide services at the MHSU outpatient clinic and support ACT/ACSS services in the community.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Department of Psychiatry and other regional healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
